July 25

This morning we made it up for breakfast then walked over to the Reichstag, which is where the Parliament meets for Germany.  There was a procedure not dissimilar to boarding an airplane, concerning security.  We waited in line for maybe an hour, then took a lift to the room where there was a very interesting portable audio tour with information about what we could see around us in Berlin as well as how the parliament works.  The view was pretty spectacular and was well worth the wait.  I would probably consider the building a work of art in itself, but it also allows you to see many of the important cultural sites in Berlin as well.  The Reichstag visit took the entire morning and we really were not sure what to next.  Berlin is a huge city with a ton of stuff to do and see, but at that point we didn't really have a lot of time left, because the train ride back takes around 5 and a half hours.  Joe and Marc ended up taking a train back to Koblenz through Hannover, just to poke around there for a bit, and I went straight back to Ingelheim, because I didn't want to deal with another train problem and have no sleep for work tomorrow.  The ride back went without incident, though it was of course quite long, and I arrived in Ingelheim with enough time to get plenty of sleep and get off of my feet for a while.
